Purpose and aims of the foundation.
Hearing is life.
In Southern Africa, there are many people with hearing impairment who have little access to audiological care. For them and their families, hearing aids are unaffordable. For this reason, Bruce McKay, a native South African, founded the “Let’s Hear Foundation” there in spring 2014, together with friends and his professional network. Since then, the foundation has expanded across other countries in Southern Africa. Throughout the region, people are supported daily with counselling, equipping them with hearing aids at affordable prices, insertion of cochlear implants and supporting them in their use. Given this success, we at the “Let’s Hear Foundation Switzerland” are convinced that this is an extremely meaningful project that deserves our – but also your – full support.
About us
We, Beat and Esther Berger-Eugster, a Swiss couple, spent the first nine years of our married life in South Africa. Still to this day, we remain strongly connected to the country and its people. We continue to maintain deep friendships in South Africa. One of our close friends is Bruce McKay, the founder of the “Let’s Hear Foundation”; thus, described above. His compassion and success inspired us in February 2022 together with our family and other founding members to establish the “Let’s Hear Foundation Switzerland”. Working from Switzerland, we would like to support people with hearing impairments throughout Southern Africa. Our support includes both medical care by specialists and the local collection of hearing aids to pass them on. This gives disadvantaged people the opportunity for more social participation and self-determination.

Donations
We are always looking for used hearing aids.
In many Swiss households, unused hearing aids are gathering dust in a drawer. We collect used hearing aids, clean them and forward them to the “Let’s Hear Foundation” in South Africa. There, the devices are revised, refitted and individually adapted for hearing impaired people by audio experts.
We gratefully accept all monetary donations. No amount is deducted from any donations for administration. 100% of your donation is guaranteed to go to where it is most urgently needed!
